CALLING ALL FEMALE COMIC WRITERS AND ILLUSTRATORS
THE COMPETITION
We would like you to design our Superheroine and prepare a standalone Chapter around 20-30 pages long. The Chapter can either be an Origin story or from later on the character’s development but it must be standalone. The Deadline is August 15th, please send submissions to evaw.crossroads@gmail.com, or via our Contact Page.
THE PRIZE
Our favourite design and chapter will win return flights to Beijing, where you will have the opportunity to meet with NGOs and artists working the Women’s Rights and LGBT sphere. The Chapter will also be printed and included in the programme for the China Women’s Film Festival, which is running 16th - 24th September 2017. The top submissions will be exhibited at the 3rd International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and Girls Art Exhibition, run here in Beijing in conjunction with UN Women.
